Lake Huron Marinas and Marine Services

Lake Huron is the second largest of the Great Lakes and is the 3rd largest fresh water lake on the planet. Although it was home to the Huron Indians it was first discovered by the French and the called it "La Mer Douce" (the fresh water sea) and on most early maps is was labelled "Lac des Hurons". Port Severn located on Georgian Bay is the final link of Trent Severn Waterway which connects Lake Huron and Lake Ontario at Trenton. This inland water route began in 1785 and was finally completed in 1920.
